10 steps to long life
1. Water should only be added to a fully charged battery. If you add water to
the battery before charging it could overflow, causing damage to your car and
the floor, add just enough water to cover the plates, charge and  then fill.
2. Never let the water get below the plates, this could damage the batteries
and shorten the life. If the water level is low add just enough water to cover
the plates, charge the batteries and then add the proper amount of water.
3. Never use water that has a heavy mineral content.
4. Never use water from a water softener.
5. Check water level weekly until your see how much water your batteries will
use.
6. Never let battery corrosion stay on your battery terminals or tie downs. A
good wash with 1 part baking soda to 1 gallon water will do just fine. Check
the battery caps to make sure they are closed and  carefully pore the baking
soda solution on the terminals and batteries until all the corrosion is gone,
and then lightly rinse the batteries with clean water.
7. Spray a battery terminal sealer on each terminal to help prevent corrosion.
Available at most automotive stores.
8. Make sure your car has good battery tie downs, a bouncing battery is not
safe.
9. If you think you have bad batteries you probably do, take your cart to a
dealer and have your batteries tested, driving with weak or bad batteries can
be dangerous and could ruin your controller.  You batteries should be able to
drive you around most of the day, if they don't  you may have a problem.
10. When you use your cart for more than a few minutes charge your
batteries. Unlike computers and cell phone batteries, golf cart batteries have
no memory, so charge them often. And after each daily use. DO NOT LISTEN
TO ANY ONE WHO TELLS  YOU TO DRIVE OR USE THE CAR UNTIL THE
BATTERIES ARE DISCHARGED, THIS WILL RUIN THE BATTERIES.
Always make sure your tires have the correct amount of air.
